film more competitive in the latest Academy Awards.
Inside
Llewyn Davis—Directed by Joel and Ethan Coen Brothers
The two Brothers are now in New York City shooting Inside Llewyn Davis.
This film is based in part on the life of folk musician Dave Van Ronk, who was
part of the mid-’60s Greenwich Village folk
music upswing. Hope this film can bring us more surprise when released.
Hyde Park on Hudson---Directed
by Roger Michell
This film is based on Richard Nelson's play
"Hyde Park on Hudson", which in turn was based on the 1939 visit by
King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to America — the royal couple’s first
appearance on these shores. There was a certain culture clash during the visit,
but relations between the US
and England
were greatly strengthened. More fans are followed by its heat story and famous
actors.
Kill
Bin Laden---Directed by Kathryn Bigelow
This film, which is mainly about the hunt
for bin Laden when news broke last spring that Navy SEAL Team 6 had found and
killed the terrorist leader, will release at December 19-well after this year’s
presidential elections. As a great anti-war movie, it will be loved by many
Oscar voters.
Les
Misérables---Directed
by Tom Hooper
Universal recently announced a release date of December 7, 2012 for Les Misérables, which is shaping up to be a very likely Oscar contender given its very good pedigree. Hooper's The King's Speech picked up several awards at the 2011 ceremony; Crowe has been nominated three times and won once(for Gladiator);and Hathaway has been nominated once. Jackman has yet to receive any Academy nods, but has picked up a Tony Award for the musical The Boy From OZ.As for me, i am so expected for the performance of Hathaway.
Anna
Karenina---Directed by Joe Wright
After taking a break to make the kick-ass
action flick Hanna, Joe Wright is back to his classically literary tricks. The
director of Pride and Prejudice and Atonement choose Leo Tolsto's masterpiece
Anna Karenina for his next film. This
film is set in 19th Century Russia and follows a young woman married to an
older man who gives into her desires to be with a younger man, setting off a
chain reaction of personal devastation. And with such strong source material,
another Wright Oscar contender has been produced. It reportedly begins filming
in September.
The
Great Gatsby---Directed by Baz Luhrmann
The director Baz Luhrmann has got Leonardo DiCaprio,
Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan set to play the three central characters in F.
Scott Fitzgerald‘s classic American novel The
Great Gatsby. This film is now shooting aimed at a December 25, 2012
