7 Upgrade Features of Apple’s Newly- launched iPad called The “New” iPad

After months and months of rumors, in San Francisco this morning, Apple has unveiled its new iPad. It isn't called the iPad 3, or even the iPad HD, as all we thought. Apple's third-generation tablet is just officially known as The "New" iPad, and Apple adds a few incremental upgrades to the processor, display, and wireless connection. It also cut the price of the iPad 2 to make it a bit more competitive in the market. Let us share the most important changes in The New iPad.

Apply the Retina Display to The “New” iPad
The highlight of Apple today’s presentation is that the new iPad is applied to a higher-resolution screen of 2,048×1,536, or 3.1 million pixels, which is similar to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S’s Retina Display. This high-resolution screen provides a better choice for those lovers who like watching HD videos on iPad.

Support 4G, solving 4G energy demands
The New iPad is the first Apple device to support 4G-LTE, and it almost surely confirms that the next iPhone will have 4G-LTE as well. The 4G-LTE applied to The New iPad will solve the energy demands in the future.

The New iPad remains the same price with iPad 2
The basic 16GB Wi-Fi model will cost $499, which is similar to the price of iPad 2. Its most expensive 4G version with 64GB will cost $829. The device will start selling on March 16 in so many countries, such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Japan. Preorders are open today.

Processor of The New iPad is upgraded to an A5X
Apple says that the A5X is 4 times as fast as Nivdia’s Tegra 3 quad-cord chip. While the CPU remains dual-core, the graphics processor has been beefed up to the quad-core.

Multitouch editing and filters in The New iPad
The New iPad especially catches our eyes with its multitouch editing and filters. The powerful functions makes organizing and editing photos much easier than on a 3.5-inch iPhone screen. Its official price: $4.99

Next-generation Apple TV box is also released
The new hardware has been updated to enable 1,080-pixel resolution movies and TV shows, and it also features a new design user interface.

A 5-megapixel shooter capable in iSight camera
The 5-megapixel camera features a backside illumination sensor, auto-exposure, and auto-focus. There's also auto-face detection. It includes 1080p HD video recording, just like on the iPhone 4S.

Unfortunately, other rumored features, such as Siri, iOS operating system, have not been applied to The New iPad. From these upgrade features, in my eyes, you can consider whether there is a nee to purchase The New iPad if having an iPad 2.
